Asthma Symptoms
Why Do You Have Asthma?
Affecting the airways, asthma can be triggered by a number of things and the muscles around the walls of the airways tend to tighten and narrow leaving the sufferer unable to breathe. It can be really frustrating and frightening for anybody going through an asthma attack, so what brings it on and why do you have asthma?
Why People Develop Asthma
There are quite a lot of reasons why you may have developed acute asthma and most of the time people blame the parents. However, it is not always the parents fault and the main causes tend to come under the following categories:
- Changes in the diet
- Genetic factors
- Too little exercise
- Problems in the workplace
- Environmental factors
All of the above can cause asthma and they are just general topics. Under genetic factors it could be that everyone else in your family has asthma too. Environmental factors can include various allergies including dust mite allergies and allergies to pollen. Another cause of asthma includes smoking which is a big problem within countries such as America and the UK.
However whilst those two factors do seem to be the main causes of asthma, you also could have developed it through a lack of exercise or a change in your diet. Processed foods in particular are eaten in larger quantities these days and therefore we are not eating as much omega 3 fish oil which contains antioxidants. Also a lack of exercise will not stretch the airways and so breathing will be harder to do when any type of activity is undertaken.
Overall asthma can be caused by a number of factors and you should look at them all to understand why you might have developed the condition.
